Our Projects

Maternity and In-Need Housing

Schatzkind was founded with the goal of establishing a network of safe no-cost housing for women in our folk community experiencing a pregnancy without adequate partnership and support. We step in to give mothers a safe housing arrangement and prevent the need to seek state-funded services. Our homes are private and secure, and while in residence, mothers, along with any other children in the family, will be provided with meals, basic supplies, social and public health services, along with cultural and ideological enrichment to ensure that this time is spent reflecting on how to strengthen our people and expand our legacy through family bonds and ancestral connections.

Fostering and Intervention
Along with housing and services, we are working to educate our folk community on the need for foster parenting and crisis intervention programs that align with our values and promote the integrity of our heritage and unique folkways. If you are interested in opening your home as a Maternity Residence or receiving information or training on becoming an approved foster parent or crisis counselor, please contact us today. Our people trust in us to defend their dignity and respect their needs and our children depend on us to lift them up and secure their future
